【摘要】:Thispracticeisintendedforuseinthefabricationofring-typetestspecimenstobeusedintheevaluationofthemechanicalpropertiesofreinforcementandresinsinacompositestructure.Thepracticeoutlinesthestepsinthepreparationofthetestspecimens,includingthefinalspecimenmachiningwhereapplicable.Fourfinalringconfigurationsareincluded.ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsofinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1-ThereisnoISOequivalenttothisstandard.

【摘要】:Thistestmethodisnotrecommendedforacceptancetestingduetoitspoorbetween-laboratoryprecision.Insomecasesthepurchaserandthesellermayhavetotestacommercialshipmentofoneormorespecificmaterialsbythebestavailablemethodeventhoughthemethodhasnotbeenrecommendedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments.Insuchacase,ifthereisadisagreementarisingfromdifferencesinvaluesreportedbythepurchaserandthesellerwhenusingthismethodforacceptancetesting,thestatisticalbias,ifany,betweenthelaboratoryofthepurchaserandthelaboratoryofthesellershouldbedeterminedwitheachcomparisonbeingbasedontestingspecimensrandomlydrawnfromonesampleofmaterialofthetypebeingtested.Aknowledgeoftheaveragelengthandlengthdistributionoffibersisimportanttofiberprocessors.Thismethodisusefulforinplantcontroltestingandforresearchpurposes.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheestimationoftheaveragefiberlengthandlengthdistributionofwoolinnonparallelassemblies,suchasscouredwool,andincardsliver.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletomanyfibersotherthanwoolifintheformofanonparallelassemblyorinacardsliver.1.3Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletounscouredwoolortowooltop.1.4Thistestmethodspecificallyrequireslengthininchesandmassinmetricunits,andisnotcontrarytoASTMpolicy.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinformationinparenthesesisforinformationonly.Note1--ThedeterminationofstaplelengthofgreasewooliscoveredinMethodD1234,SamplingandTestingStapleLengthofGreaseWool,andtheaveragelengthoffibersinwooltopiscoveredinTestMethodD519.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
