【摘要】:Thisspecificationcoverspolyethylene(PE)tubingpressureratedforwater(seeappendix).IncludedarecriteriaforclassifyingPEplastictubingmaterialsandPEplastictubing,andrequirementsandtestmethodsformaterials,workmanship,dimensions,sustainedpressure,burstpressure,andenvironmentalstresscracking.Thisspecificationdiffersfromthepipespecificationsintheiroutsidediameters.Methodsofmarkingarealsogiven.Thetextofthisspecificationreferencesnotes,footnotes,andappendixeswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthespecification.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Note1-PEplastictubingisoftenusedwithfittingsthatrequireflaringthetubing.Thetechniqueusedtomaketheflareishighlyimportanttoproduceleak-freejoints.Forfurtherinformation,refertoPracticeD3140.Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportion,Section7,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
